How does The Qube system work?
The Qube System which incorporates the patent pending OrbsMedia Technology is a new stylish range of sealed bio-reactors, capable of both solid capture and bio-filtration. The units have a unique bio-mechanical stage, capturing large solids before they get into the main biological stage, which reduces the need for excessive backwashing of the filter media.
Toxin Removal for Clean Water
The Qube works by removing waste and harmful toxins, such as Ammonia and Nitrite, and converting them into less harmful Nitrate. This is known in science as the Nitrogen Cycle.
Pond water containing fish waste and toxins enter The Qube via the 4” water inlet (Gravity Fed) or 1.5” (Pump fed). Water then moves upwards to Bio-reactor one. Water then travel’s downwards through Bio-reactor one. On leaving the first bio-reactor, water moves upwards and enters the U.V units. (600 and 800-unit range only), and upon exiting the U.V unit, water passes through the second bio-reactor and exits through the bottom drainage back to the pond.
The systems also eliminate any bad odours which is attributed to the build up of hydrogen sulphide gas. These gases are very toxic to fish.
The unit is also sealed, which means that waste products from the pond oxidise at a much slower rate than filters, which are open to the atmosphere.
ORBS Technology
Oxygen Reactive Biological Spheres, with their patent pending unique design and surface area Orbs are up to 80% more efficient than other leading plastic filter media.
ORBS also has E.V.Ps (External Void Protectors) around the centre of the sphere. These create void space, which allows water to flow effortlessly around them. Orbs media also have an enormous nitrification capacity and can easily cope with heavy organic loadings.
Applications
The Qube Range has been developed to be used in almost any situation where water filtration is needed from the smallest Aquariums to the largest of ponds. The systems are most effective where water quality and clarity are wanted the most.
The Qube 200 – The smallest in the range and ideally suited towards the Aquarium application. With its own self-cleaning system, indoor tank filtration is at a whole new level of innovation and technology.
The Qube 300 – Ideal for surface skimmers, quarantine ponds and/or larger Aquariums.
The Qube 400 – Designed with smaller ponds up to 2500 galls 11,350 litres they can also be used as a biological water polishers.
The Qube 600 – For ponds up to 6000 Gallons. 27,240 litres.
The Qube 800 – For Larger ponds 8,000 to 10,000 Gallons. 36,320 to 45,400 litres.
Both the 600 and 800 have integrated U.V clarifiers eliminating the need for additional external units.
For the largest of ponds and aquariums it is also possible to combine The Qube range and run multiple systems together, so for example 4 of The Qube 800 working together can filter 32,000 gallons 145,280 litres of water. This makes The Qube system completely adaptable to any requirement.
