Having watched, with interest, The-Qube since their installation at Shirley Aquatics, I decided last autumn to take the plunge and completely redo my filter system.

In October 2013, Elite Filtration replaced 6 Spirex Aquatec filters and 2 sand filters with 2 x 800-Qubes and 1 x 400-Qube. Whilst my water has always been good the improvement in clarity was immediately apparent and the fish seem much happier. The big test will of course be as I start to feed into the spring and summer but I am confident that the filters will cope.

Two of the biggest differences have been lower running costs and ease of maintenance. Instead of standing out in all weathers I am warm and dry in the shed which makes the job more pleasant to do therefore it is done more often and, providing you read the instructions, they are simple to operate.

At the same time as my main ponds were converted, the Quarantine system was updated with a 600-Qube. These fish have been fed all winter and are really fit and healthy. Only days after installation the automatic feeder dumped 3 kilos of food yet within 3 – 4 days the water was clear again.

To date I am more than pleased with results.
